What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), company details (name, VAT and registration numbers, address, banking details you enter), and the records you create in Butler — which may include information about your customers, suppliers and employees.
Why we use it
To give you the service, to bill you, to support you, and to meet legal record-keeping duties. We do not sell personal information or use your business records for advertising.
You as responsible party
For information about your own customers and employees, you are the responsible party and Butler is the operator processing it on your instruction.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to the people you invite to your workspace, and records are separated per company. Backups are taken regularly.
How long we keep it
Financial records are retained for five years to meet South African requirements. After you close your account we delete personal information that we are not required to keep.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, correct it, export it, or ask us to delete it and close your account. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
